The accident cash of the federation (UK-federation) is the responsible accident cash for employees of the federal administration, the labour offices, the foreign armed forces in Germany and special enterprises (like institutes, donations). Beyond that the federation has the social responsibility for special persons, who are not direct persons employed of the federal administration (e.g. coworker German Red Cross), taken over and it accident-insures with the accident cash of the federation. The UK-federation cares for more than six million Versicherte - in Germany and abroad. The head office is in Wilhelmshaven. An administration office is in Branch offices of prevention are in Berlin and Mainz.

The UK-federation insures among other things

• approx. 270,000 persons employed of the federal administration, federal agency for work, foreign armed forces and taken over mechanisms (institutes, donations etc.).

• approx. 350,000 head and honorary coworkers of the Federal Institution technical welfare organization and the German red cross (German Red Cross)

• more than 1.8 million blood donor of the German red cross

• over 4.2 million unemployed person, if they drove on arrangement of the labour office e.g. to an interview.

• Foreign teacher (by the central office for the foreign public education sent to German schools abroad)

• Local forces with the agencies of the federation abroad: e.g. messages, Consulates General, German Federal Armed Forces mechanisms in the USA or in former Yugoslavia and the Goethe Institutes

• Development aid (of: German volunteer service, working group for development assistance, Evangelist volunteer service, world peace service, EIRENE, Christian specialists international)

In the year 2002 scarcely 38,000 accidents and illnesses were indicated. Well 33,000 pensions to hurt one and survivor were paid. 2002 was spent approximately 200 million euro, 146 million euro alone on pension payments.
