Adalbert Frey (* 14 September 1922 in Cham, Upper Palatinate "† 12 January 2006 ebenda) was a German entrepreneur in East Bavaria.

It visited the monastery school (Benediktinergymnasium) in Ettal starting from 1933 and locked 1940 with the Abitur. After short work service it was drawn in to the war service at the east front. After the boiler battle of Jassy Kischinew in Romania the young second lieutenant pierced itself with durchschossener hand to the German lines. At home the Gestapo determined against it because of its connection to the family of Dr. Franz closes, who ranked among the 200 persons, who were executed because of their alleged or actual participation in the assassination attempt from 20 July 1944. Frey continued to serve to end of war as a soldier and came into war shank.

After the study of the political economy with Adolf weber in Munich and the graduation to the Dr. oec. publication. with the descriptor "“summa cum laude"” created Frey several department stores in Cham, swan village and market talking joke with altogether 500 persons employed. The application of new presentation and sales methods registered soon the call to it as that-largest entrepreneur personalities of East Bavaria and as a department store pioneer. 1997 he became honour citizen of its hometown, was carrier of the Order of Merit and the Bavarian earnings/service medal. Frey remained always Christian conservative, its younger brother is a DVU chairman Gerhard Frey.
