Adolf because (* 7 February 1848 in Heidelberg; "† 23 July 1916 in Wiesbaden), was a German physician.

Life and work

Because Heidelberg studied and attained a doctorate 1871 at the university. Subsequently, it went to Berlin and became an assistant with Friedrich Theodor of Frerichs, where it also habilitierte itself. 1886 it followed a call to the University of Dorpat, had to give however one year up later because of an illness the training activity. 1893 it moved to Wiesbaden, where it deceased later.

It isolated the Norleucin as the first and described the heavy process form of the Leptospirose designated after it as Weil illness.
