An advice (in Austria: Aviso) is in the goods traffic the announcement of a supply (delivery advice), in the exchange the announcement of a payment (payment advice).

A delivery advice is made available to the information of the customer, so that this can plan its production and further logistic steps. So the customer can dispose a crane or a fork-lift truck or further distribution transportation for example on a building site for the unloading of a supply or align its production planning to the planned arrival of goods.

The payment advice is needed, in order to facilitate and to the receiver bank show for the receiver of a payment the or the allocation of the payment that still another payment will be received.

The announcement to the receiver bank is for example necessary, if the payment will take place very late and to be feared is that the bank could close the electronic switch (ELS) and drive the daily closing for the Also so a disbursement of a in fact covered account can be made possible, since a subsequent covering is ready placed by the advised transfer.
