Air Austria was a Austrian airline. It was created 1955 in Austria after regaining of the sovereignty in the air by the convention of 1955. The private-economical and with the KLM cooperating air transport company however never took up the flying operation.

Air Austria was united on 4 April 1957 after long negotiations of the government parties and with the national "“Austrian Airways"” to the today's "“Austrian Airlines"”.
