The air traffic law (LuftVG) is the basis for the aviation legislation in Germany. It contains regulations to the following ranges of topics:

First section
- Aircraft and aviation personnel
- Airfields
- Aviation enterprise and - meetings
- Traffic regulations
- Airport coordination, air traffic control and flight weather service
- Premature possession briefing and expropriation
- Common regulations
Second section
- Adhesion for persons and things, who are not carried in the aircraft
- Adhesion for persons and luggage, who are carried in the aircraft; Adhesion for late transport
- Further adhesion questions, among other things also for military aircraft

- Punishing and legal regulations covering fines
