The kind Alant (Inula) from the family of the basket bloom plants (Asteraceae) covers about 90 kinds. These are to a large extent plants of several years and krautige and originate from Asia, Africa and Europe. The different kinds are begun of very different size, with tiny plants suitable for rock-gardens up to enormous Stauden, which become high over three meters. With these kinds also the sheets can achieve a considerable size.
Alant kinds are cultivated usually yellow basket blooms particularly because of their pretty, some already since the antique one. The name Inula likewise already is since the Roman time used.
