Alexander Alexandrowitsch Porochowschtschikow (Russian , * 1892 in pc. Petersburg, " 1941) was a Soviet technical designer.
Porochowschtschikow came 1908 for the first time with airplanes into contact. It developed and built a glider model, which was issued in the December of the same yearly in Moscow for 1909.
Nikolai Jegorowitsch Schukowski became attentive to the model and the designer, after the model successfully accomplished some test flights. July Alexandrowitsch Meller, the owner of the Dux works, explained itself ready to manufacture a prototype of an airplane on basis of the model. In the long run the project failed because of the fact that no suitable engine was present.
Porochowschtschikow built thereupon 1911 its first airplane under own direction. During the 1. World war worked he with his small workshop for the military. After the war and the October Revolution he developed in the years 1917 to 1923 five further samples, by which some in series were built.
Porochowschtschikow sketched also first armored vehicle in Russia. This single-seat armed vehicle possessed however only one chain. The army did not show interest in it.
1941 were arrested Porochowschtschikow, placed because of alleged espionage before court and executed in the same year.
