Dr. Alexander Spengler (*20. March 1827; "† 1901) were a German physician and revolutionary.

Life

Alexander Sprengler was born as an oldest son of Johann Philipp Spengler, a main teacher at the higher daughter school in Mannheim.

Starting from autumn 1846 it studied five terms jurisprudence at the University of Heidelberg, where it became active with the Corps Suevia. It followed (like his Mannheimer school colleague Friedrich Hecker and Gustav of Struve) the revolution of Baden and took over the guidance of the academic section. Soon recognized Spengler the healthy effect of the Davoser climate against the Tuberkulose and provided for the spreading of this therapy. Together with Willem January Holsboer established the institute for cure Spengler Holsboer to Spengler 1868.

Alexander Spengler received nordische ski into the 1870er years a pair and was probably first, or one of the first owners of ski in Switzerland. These skis are today in the winter sports museum in Davos.

He was the father of Dr. Carl Spengler and Dr. Lucius Spengler, both well-known lung physicians in Davos
