Alfred A. Tomatis (* 1 January 1920 in Nice; "† 25 December 2001 in Carcassonne) practiced as a HNO physician in Paris, before it a APP (audio Psycho phonology) - therapy and training centre based.

It developed the audio Psycho phonology (APP), frequently also Tomatis method, Tomatis therapy or Tomatis , sometimes also Mozart therapy mentioned. Complementary-medical application wants to promote the ability in the stimulating treatment with particularly prepared music and voice for listening and communicating and to exhibit numerous other positive effects on different ranges of the brain. Over special headphone with 3 channels (2 for the tones via sound line of the ears and 1 for a small vibrator in the center of the head handle on the head cover for the bone line) after first accurately determined parameter of the patient by special equipment ("“electronic ear"” or "“Brain Activator"”) electronically regenerated changed music and/or voice (nut/mother voice, the own voice and with foreign language training also the voice "“native speakers"”) are brought in. The therapy is offered the medical profession trained apart from paedagogues, therapists and psychologists also by and in hospitals. To the scientific medicine it applies as outsider method and only individual, classically trained HNO physicians however predominantly practices it equivalently (see left below). There are world-wide numerous "“Tomatis institutes"”, "“Tomatis centers"” and APP therapists.
