American Overseas airlines (AOA), developed from the 1937 created American export airlines, is an US-American airline. It was created by the navigation enterprise American export LINEs. A goal was it to offer Atlantic connections. Thus it started 1942 a connection New York - Ireland with Flugbooten.

In November American became export airlines after the fusion of the transatlantic division from American Airlines to American Overseas airlines. After some years of good co-operation with American Airlines (AA provided for the national tying up) AOA with Pan American fused and came up in this, with which the name disappeared.
