Andreas Heinrich Voigt (* 18 April 1860 in Flensburg; " 6 December 1940 in Frankfurt/Main) was originally a mathematician, late professor for economics and social sciences.
Its Freiburger thesis over the algebra of the logic with Ernst was one first to this range of the scientific logic at all. After a short activity as Gymnasiallehrer and a lecturer in elementary mathematics at the technical university Karlsruhe led it its pronounced sociological and sociopolitical interest to the political economy, although it continued to continue its mathematical studies also during its research and training activity in the new field of activity. Above all the frontiers between mathematics, logic and philosophy employed it during its entire researcher life. Only late the scientific meaning of its logical work for the history of the logic research, particularly in connection with his controversy with Edmund Husserl, was recognized.
When managing directors it led from 1896 to 1903 Institut for public interest in Frankfurt/Main, William the Merton in the life had called, and was at the establishment of the academy for social and commercial sciences and the university Frankfurt takes part. With the establishment of the academy 1901 he became lecturer in economic science there and had the first chair for national economy (at that time "economic political sciences"; together with Ludwig Pohle and Paul Arndt) at the new Frankfurt university from 1914 to its retirement in the year 1925.
