Andreas's von Gundelsheimer (* 1668 in damp cheeks; "† 17. May 1715 in Stettin) was a physician, Botaniker and explorer in the service of the French king Ludwig XIV. and body physician of Prussian kings.

Life

Gundelsheimer born as a son of the Oberkaplans of damp cheeks, Michael Gundelsheimer. It studied medicine in old village, after the graduation in the year 1688 spent it some years in Venice, went then to Paris and accompanied Joseph pit clay/tone de Tournefort and the painter Claude Aubriet from 1700 to 1702 on a Forschungsreise to small Asia and Armenia. To its return it moved in the year 1703 to Berlin, where king Friedrich I. appointed it his body physician. It held this position also under the successor, king Friedrich William I. He deceased, while he accompanied his king after Stettin, at the age of 47 years.

Achievements

The multiplicity of the plants collected by him during the Forschungsreise ever to the half were left to the Herbarium in Berlin and in Munich. Apart from the activity as royal-Prussian yard and Leibmedicus, Andreas's von Gundelsheimer made itself earned also around the establishment of the anatomical theatre in Berlin.
