Michael Lwoff (* 8. May 1902 in Ainay le Allier, France; " 30 September 1994 in Paris, France) was a French micro biologist.
Lwoff introduced 1962 a taxonomy of the viruses.
it received 1965 together with Jacob and Jacques Lucien Monod the Nobelpreis for physiology or medicine "for its discoveries in the area of genetic control of the synthesis from enzymes and viruses".
