Angelo Sala (* 1576 in ; "† 2 October 1637 in was a physician and a scientist. Angelo Sala is well-known also under its latin name Angelus Sala.

Life

Sala is the son of the weber Bernardino Sala, which had fled for religious reasons with its family to Geneva.

There Sala studied several years medicine. It made already early from itself talks, since it called directly the famous Paracelsus fundamental reforms in in the medicine. Salas medical career/development led it as a physician to Dresden (1602), Sondrino (1604), Nuremberg (1606), woman field (1607) and again Geneva (1609).

In the subsequent year 1610 Sala accompanied the count Johann von Nassau as a field physician.

Between 1612 and 1617 he was active in Hague. Subsequently, it was appointed as a body physician of the count Anton of Oldenburg. This appointed Sala also to the custodian over the pharmacy nature.

1620 went to Sala as Chymiater to Hamburg. Land count Moritz von Hessen-Kassel held large pieces Sala and he recommended him as a body physician to the duke Johann Albrecht II. of Mecklenburg This appointed Sala 1625 to the University of Rostock for a Professur of the medicine. There Sala taught until 1628; among other things here Johann Rist became its pupil.

At the end of May 1628 accompanied Sala duke Johann Albrecht II. in the anhaltische exile after Berne castle. When on 26 June 1628 Sala prince brought to Ludwig Ith newspapers Italian of notion and a book back, it was accepted by this to the fruitful society. In the summer 1629 Sala accompanied its duke in the exile to Luebeck. There Sala remained the herzogliche body physician up to its death in the year 1636. Afterwards Sala was active in same position with the son of the duke, duke Gustav Adolf of Mecklenburg

In Angelo Sala at the age of 61 years died on 2 October 1637.

Angelo Sala published 19 scientific works in German, French, Italian and Latin language. In these works it tried to distinguish by practical-experimental bases chemistry from Claudius Galenus. In its late work it took in addition also from Paracelsus distance.
