An animal epidemic is by infection exciters a caused, a transferable and itself usually fast spreading illness of animals.

By the high economic damage with the outbreak of animal epidemics, in particular with domestic animals, special legal regulations apply to the fight of these diseases. They are by animal-you-tightness-set (TierSG), presently/immediately valid version from 22 June 2004, regulated.

Germany

A set of animal epidemics are in Germany indicate requiring, i.e. each keeper of an animal is obligated knowledge of it to give with an appropriate suspicion, to the responsible authority immediately. The indicate-requiring animal epidemics are in each case up-to-date adapted by a regulation over indicate-requiring animal epidemics (TierSeuchAnzV).   15. Brucellose of the cattle, pigs, sheep and goats
  16. Ebola virus infection
  17. Enzooti of the deer
  18. Enzooti Leukose of the cattle
  19. Poultry plague
  20. Infectious hematopoietic necrosis (IT) the Salmoniden
  21. Lumpy skin illness (Dermatitis nodularis)
  22. Lung epidemic of the cattle
  23. Muzzle and claw epidemic (MKS)

Switzerland

In Switzerland animal epidemics are divided in 4 groups:

  1. High-sticking on animal epidemics (in accordance with list A of the international office of epizootics, OIE)
  2. Epidemics which can be exterminated (already exterminated by fight programs to a large extent)
  3. Fighting epidemics (eliminatable diseases, fight does not aim at a damage delimitation)
  4. Supervising epidemics (obligation to register)
