Anton Werkgartner (* 5. June 1890 in live; " 1 November 1970 in Graz) was a Austrian right physician.
Werkgartner visited the High School in Linz. In the First World War it was wounded at the Italian front heavily and got the silver bravery medal and the golden Distinguished Service Cross. On 10 July 1919 it attained a doctorate in medicine at the University of Vienna and became soon thereafter an assistant of Albin Haberda. In the Sophienspital it was active as a secondary physician. After its Habilitation for court medicine 1927 he got 1928 a Professur. 1939-1946 and 1952-1956 he was more extraordinary and afterwards up to its retirement 1961 tidy professor for court medicine at the University of Graz, where it was 1956 also Dekan of the medical faculty. 1959 he became a chairman of the German society for judicial and social medicine. to 1962 he received the honour cross for science and art of first class lent.
Anton Werkgartner wrote numerous publications in scientific magazines, under it several over the transmission of groups of bloods.
At the night to 25 July 1934 it examined the corpse of the murdered Austrian Federal Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss together with its assistant Szekely in the Office of the Federal Chancellor in Vienna.
