As a body of the public right an architectural association on regional level implements national tasks, which are regulated in the architect law. These are e.g. "“the building culture, the architecture, the building industry, to promote the town construction and the landscape conservation"…"” (Source: Hamburgi architectural association), the tasks such as further training and protection of interests, usual for a professional association. That meanwhile likewise to the regular achievements of the national chambers belonging leading (architect) of an office listing is not legally regulated against it.

The chambers are administered by the registered architect/inside, interior decorator/inside, garden and landscape architect/inside and town planners themselves. Only into the architect list registered members of the architectural associations may lead the job title "“architect in"”, "“interior decorator in"”, "“landscape architect in"” and "“town planner in"” or modifications of it. The modalities of the admission of members in the chamber and/or the architect list are likewise regulated by the architect law and/or a nationallegal entry and deletion regulation.
