Arwed Emminghaus (* 22 August 1831 in Niederrossla with Apolda; "† 8 February 1916 in Gotha) was a German political economist.

Life

It studied 1851-54 in Jena jurisprudence and political economy, was busy since 1855 in the Ministry too Weimar practically, stepped 1858 as an office boss into a Dresdener insurance company and transferred 1861 the editorship "“of Bremen of the trade paper"” to Bremen. In this characteristic it became the driving Kraft with the structure of organized distress emergency measures in Germany. This flowed in the year 1865 in the establishment of the German society for the rescue of shipwrecked ones, whose first secretary and advisor of many years were he.

1866 as a professor of the political economy to the polytechnic institute destined as Karlsruhe, he moved 1873 as a director of the life assurance company for Germany to Gotha.
