French aviation and arms company developed 1970 from the union of the enterprises Sud aviation, north aviation and put under state control at that time.

Admits is the enterprise for its airplanes and helicopters.

1999 fused with Matra struck technology (a daughter of the French Matra company) to Matra, which fused on 10 July 2000 with other European enterprises to the EADS.
