The association for Socialpolitik is an important economic combination in the German linguistic area. It has its seat in Frankfurt/Main. At present it has about 3,200 personal and 48 korporative members. The association publishes the series of publications "„writings of the association for Socialpolitik "“(new consequence) and two magazines ("„German Economic Review " and "“perspectives of the economic policy "“).

It is concerned in 23 constant specialized committees with all branches of the economic science. Present chairmen is Professor Dr. Friedrich cutter (Johannes Kepler university Linz).

History

The association was created 1873. Adolf hero was since 1873 a secretary. To it economists belonged such as Gustav Schmoller (chairman 1890-1917) and Adolf Wagner. The association saw its task in to act the policy of the laissez-faire in the social politics to be fought as it the German Manchester liberals claimant, on the other hand in addition, against the socialrevolutionary ideas of arising socialism. The founders of the association were called soon "“Kathedersozialisten"”, because they, as Schmoller formulated it, lift, form and reconcile "“on the basis of the existing order the lower classes so far that they insert themselves in harmony and peace into the organism"”. After heavy internal arguments the sociopolitical "“agitation association"” developed further to a politically neutral, specializedspreading society.

1936 dissolved the association, in order to escape synchronising. 1948 it was again-created. Since 1956 it bears the name additive "“society for economics and social sciences"”.
