The term assortment politics is a minor of the product politics and therefore an aspect of action Marketing.Das assortment is the offer pallet of a trading venture, it covers all articles, which are offered in a trading venture.

By the term "“assortment politics"” we understand the recapitulatory designation, which covers all decisions of the entrepreneur in connection with the organization of its total offer.

Goals of the assortment politics

Assortment politics (product politics) are the measure of an enterprise for the organization corresponding to real market conditions of the entire offer, in order to reach the marketing goals.

  • Improvement of the competitive position
  • Dispersion of the risks
  • Extent of utilization and rationalization of production and storekeeping
  • Increase of the group purchases and the sales volumes
  • Positioning on the market and opposite competitors
  • Optimization of the assortment arrangement in the sales room (customer run)
