The auricula (Primula auricula) to the kind the LN-further names are belonged (Switzerland), alpine key flower, Petergstamm and Platenigl.
The gold-yellow blooms, in 4 - until Dolden stand, smell strongly and become approx. 15 to 25 mm largely. Bloom time is from April to Juni.Die plant becomes approx. 5 to 25 cm high and is thus the largest alpine Primel.
The thick, water of storing sheets have a layer of wax, which protects against sun exposure and which evaporation limits.
The plant occurs in the northern lime alps and southern lime alps only on kalkhaltigen mats and rock columns and is at values of 1600 to 3400 m to be found. Likewise it seems to law in rock columns in Swiss.
During the ice ages refuge in deeper, protected situations found. The auricula is today received at some locations as Eiszeitrelikt until (e.g. Danube tightness with world castle).
The plant is in the meantime very rare and protected. In Austria those is called auricula usually Petergstamm and ziert the back of the .
Is called on French and Italian translates bear ear.
Regionally (e.g. in Bavaria) also the Gartenprimel is called auricula.
In Austria two subspecies exist:
