Aventis was one of the largest Pharma companies of the world with seat in Strasbourg.

The enterprise developed 1999 from the fusion of most Marion Roussel, before times most for AG (Frankfurt/Main), and the French Pharma company Poulenc (Lyon). The German location in Frankfurt most became thereby the seat of the Pharmasparte of the new company.

2004 were taken over the enterprise by the competitor Sanofi the common enterprise carry the names sanofi aventis.
