The enterprise aero was created under the name aero, letadel Dr. Kabe"š on 10 January 1919 in Prague Hole"šovice (Czechoslovakia). 1923 were referred a newly built factory in Prague Vysocany. Airplanes were produced and starting from 1929 also automobiles. The aero airplanes, those in Yugoslavia after that 2. World war were built, are located in no connection to the Czech enterprise described here.

Aero airplanes were developed predominantly for the military need (and built), from light observation airplanes to twin-engine bombers. The first type was a reproduction of a Austrian double-decker, that again the German Hansa Brandenburg B.I, was developed by Ernst Heinkel, shared and appeared 1919 as aero Ae-01. On its basis several other types of the 1600-kg-Klasse were developed further later, under others the successful types A-11 and A-12 built over 300 times in different versions.

1920 appeared then first own production, the single-engine double-decker fighter aero Ae-02. To the quantity production it did not come first, the sample served however later for some constructions of the 1000 kg of class. Until 1938 became with aero nearly 40 different types of aircraft developed, most of it were military, but there were also civilian airplanes like the aero A-38, which was built starting from 1929. Starting from 1935 in French license of the bombers MB-200 one built.

After the Okkupation of the CSR 1939 the work aero under German supervision produced mainly the Siebel SI 204 as well as a time long the license version of the Soviet SB-2 (B-71), whose building laws had been acquired by the Czechoslovakian government 1938.

After that 2. World war continued to build the work still to 1949 the Si-204 under the name C-3 for the Czechoslovakian armed forces. The first own type after release was the twin-engine passenger aircraft aero Ae-45 of 1947, which was built in over 500 copies.

1959 were developed for the military of the jet coaches L-29 Delfin and used in the entire Warsaw Pact. Also "“got used to"” governments were supplied. To the combat mission he came 1967 in the Nigerian civil war. Attacked in December 1998 in the context of the operation Desert Fox one resounds destroyed in Iraq and, in which L-29 should be converted to drones. The advancement aero L-39 Albatros was built starting from 1971.

Its successor L 159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat aircraft) is offered at present (2004) world-wide.

Aero automobiles were only built starting from 1929. They were equipped without exception with two-stroke engines. First an a cylinder 500 cm 7 kW/10 HP, then the two-cylinders 662 cm 12 and 13 KW (16 and 18 HP) and 1000 cm 15 kW/20 HP.

Since 1934 sportily drawn Fronttriebler with the type designation aero 30 (1000 cm 22 kW/30 HP) and 1936 were manufactured then a four-cylinder aero 50 (2000 cm 37 kW/50 HP).

After that 2. World war was built a two-cylinder (616 cm 15 kW/20 HP), which was designed during the war in the company JAWA and driven out under the designations Jawa Minor and aero Minor. For its time that was a roomy and also sportily successful vehicle. A Sahara crossing became famous back and forth, whereby the stage Cotonou (Benin) was mastered - Algiers with a daily average by 426 km. Production was stopped 1951, after the manufacturing plants for military need were stressed.
