Baileys is the colloquial short form for Baileys original Irish Cream, the label name of an Irish Irish Cream designates a from Irish Whiskey and cream. Baileys contains of 17% volume. Alcohol.

Baileys came in November 1974 on the market. Since then Baileys developed to one of the best sold liquor of the world. In the development of the prescription considerably Tom Jago participated. Beside Baileys it developed a branded article of the Malibu and in the year 2003 a which is based on Wodka named Jago's.

Trivia

  • In the first year of production - from 1974 to 1975 - Baileys produced about 72,000 bottles. Today more than twice as much on only one day one produces.
  • 2,000 glasses of Baileys are drunk per minute in the world.
  • Baileys is alone responsible for more than 50 per cent of all liquor exports from Ireland.
  • Approximately 1,500 farms supply the milk - 40,000 milk cows cover the cream need for Baileys. For this purpose approx. 200 million litre milk in production are used annually.
