Bark calls one felled trees the phloem cells at the exterior tree bark and phloem form together the crust. The bark protects the underlying layers of the trunk.

Since the bark does not along-grow no more with the tree, it bursts by its growth up and is partially thrown off. The bark of the cork oak is peeled and used economically and converted to and/or floor mats. The largest forest-economical damage to the bark is caused by the bark beetle.

Bark is in the medical jargon alternative term for crust.
