Benjamin Libet (* 1916) is an US-American physiologist.

Libet studied and attained a doctorate at the university of Chicago physiology. He taught and researched among other things with John Eccles in Canberra. Libet is considered as "„Galionsfigur of the Determinismus "“and its research concerns itself besides mainly with the human free will.

The results of the famous Libet experiments let arise doubts about the liberty of the human will, Libet however from it not the refutation of the human free will concluded.
