The term bypass (English for evasion, bypass) designates the evasion of a connection existing without bypass in most contexts; it is used in the medicine, in addition, in the technology and logistics.

Medicine

With a bypass on operational way an arisen passage obstacle is bridged. A connection with at the beginning of the bottleneck (Stenose) up to the end of the bottleneck is made.

Logistics

In logistics one speaks of a bypass, if a supply goes past at the camp or dealer directly from the supplier to the customer. The classical chain, which a part goes through, is the following: From the supplier it comes to the dealer, there into the camp. With an order by the customer it is then delivered. With the bypass the parts of the dealer are ordered with the supplier, but the supply goes from there directly to the customer.

Alternatively the commodity can be pulled also over the point of envelope of the dealer. Here it is however not stored, but is not made available directly in the "“bypass"” to the forwarding at the customers.

For such a procedure there can be a set of reasons. Here a few examples:

• There is arrears of the part (thus the dealer does not have enough in stock), but the customer needs the parts urgently.
• Supplier and customer lie together spatially very closely.
• This concerns parts, which are not held in stock. E.G. because it cannot to have to be personalisiert too much and one for each customer its own part in stock hold.
