The bad radio in Germany is voice transmission, which by authorities and organizations with safety tasks (BOS) is used, and is last 2000 by the Federal Ministry of the Interior issued bad radio guideline reglementiert in Germany in that.
The bad radio is a closed mobile UKW Landfunkdienst
A goal of regimentation is it to ensure a safe and troublefree radio enterprise of all users of the BOS. For this become the users
so-called "frequency assignments" for their internal voice transmission enterprise gives. The characteristic of the bad radio consists of the fact that these frequency assignments in each case contain permission for using apart from the assigned frequencies for the purpose co-operation with other BOS also their frequencies.
By the bad radio the 4m becomes main (usually vehicle radios) and the 2-Meter-Band (usually hand radios) in addition, used, it is to 8 m (abolished) and the 70cm-Band (radio links) at the disposal. The length specifications designate thereby the wavelength. In all volumes frequency modulation (FM) is used.
Each channel possesses prevented (UB) and an upper volume (WHETHER) and can in the modes of operation intercommunication (simplex) or Gegensprechen (duplex) be operated; with intercommunication thereby only one volume of the channel is occupied, with Gegensprechen the entire channel. With the Gegensprechen frequently a relay station is used. Vehicles and stations permanently installed transmit in prevented. The relay station receives the discussions in prevented and sends these then in the upper volume at the other vehicles and stations permanently installed.
Beside these similar channels there are 2000 efforts approximately for the year to introduce for the BOS into Germany a digital bundle radio system with the designation TETRA. At present a pilot project runs at the police in Aachen.
The passwords of the radio call names some (of non-police) units:
| Organization | 4 m-volume | 2 m-volume |
|---|---|---|
| Fire-brigade | Florian | Florentine |
| Johanniter accident assistance | Akkon | Jonas |
| Malteser emergency service | Johannes | Malta |
| German red cross | Red cross | |
| Worker Samariter federation | Sama | Samuel |
| Technical welfare organization | Heros | Heros (old Hermine) |
| German lifesaving company registered association (DLRG) | Pelican | Pelican (operating radio eagle) |
| German society for the rescue of shipwrecked ones (DGzRS) | Triton | |
| Rettungshubschrauber | Christoph | |
| Water-been awake | Water-been awake | Water-been awake |
| Mountain rescue team | Mountain rescue team | Mountain rescue team |
| Disaster control authorities and - units, | Kater | Katherina |
| Leopold | Leopoldine | |
| Hydra | Hydra |
The 2 m-names were abolished thereby at many organizations meanwhile and/or are only rarely used. Within the range of the mountain rescue team Black Forest radio communication between mountain rescue guard and employment crew is made usually in the 2-Meter-Band without the use of converters, thus in the circulation of bills. Relay stations are used only with larger meetings.
The DLRG has three operating radio frequencies in the 2m-Band, on which according to bad rules with the radio call name "eagle" is transmitted. An intended DLRG binding to the frequencies of the inland waterway craft travel radio is so far not yet realized.
Vessels of the THW use the same radio call names in the within and maritime radio traffic as in the bad radio.
Additionally to the organization-characteristic above mentioned Rufnamen codes used around the kind of being able to recognize origin and other characteristics of the respective units. See in addition tactical identifications with fire-brigade and emergency service.
Hearing of this radio traffic is punishable with imprisonments up to five years apart from civil compensation demands (see "§88 and "§89 TKG). Appropriate frequency tables may not be used for hearing these frequencies.
Units, which want to monitor in a bad radio circuit, must before regularly announce themselves in the radio circuit and/or at the directing center.
