Carl Gustav Bernoulli (* 1834 in Basel; "† 1878 in San Francisco) were a Swiss physician, Botaniker, an explorer and an archaeologist.

It accompanied 1877 excavations of the Maya ruins of Tikal, died on the return journey to Basel in San Francisco. The artifacts - wooden boards with hieroglyphics, door falls from Maya temples etc. -, collected on this expedition, are today in the museum in Basel.
