Carl Huter (born 9 October 1861 in Heinde, "† 4 December 1912 in Dresden) developed a theory from Physiognomik and Phrenologie.

Youth and study time

Carl Huter was born at the 9.Oktober 1861 in Heinde with Hildesheim as an oldest son of the hydraulic engineering master Conrad Heinrich Huter. The father deceased in March 1868 and Carl lived from the time on with relatives on a small farm in Oedelum (with Schellerten/Lower Saxony). It buildup separately from its two sisters. After the plans of its care parents he should take over once the farm and him the attendance of the High School was in such a way refused. It extracted from this pressure however and went themselves to the Konfirmation to its nut/mother to Heinde. In Hildesheim Carl Huter completed a decoration, a porcelain and haven guessing painter teachings. To conclusion of the teachings it went to Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden, where it trained itself further in art-historical, philosophical, scientific and physiognomischer direction.

In the years 1885 to 1892 Carl Huter financed his studies mainly by decoration and haven guessing painting. In the regions Hildesheim and Braunschweig are present different of its works in churches and private property.

Illness and development of the teachings

Carl Huter got sick with a heavy neck suffering and was several times operated. This illness, which was called medizinischerseits incurable, gave it the impact to argue with the most diverse therapy directions. In the medical basic subjects was it comprehensively trusts. On these knowledge he continued to develop his already to a large extent developed Psychophysiognomik and Kallisophie. Its Wahlspruch for the development of this teachings read: One provides view of the work of the most efficient men and summarizes the most valuable; only so one all fair and enriched thereby better its knowledge, than by senseless over elevation one or by groundless reduction of the other one.

Thus it seizes on the realizations of of the old Physiognomen (sees to Physiognomik) (Johann Joachim Winckelmann, Giambattista della Porta, Charles Le Brun, Peter Camper), the Phrenologen (see to Phrenologie) (Gustav Scheve, Franz Joseph Gall) and the Mimiker (Charles Bell, Johann Jacob angel, Guillaume Benjamin Duchenne, Paolo Mantegazza) back and led it to a synthesis.

Starting from 1893 Carl Huter held private training courses in the disciplines developed by him in the small framework in Hanover. Already starting from 1884 it had held by the 1,000 lectures in different cities on its teachings. In Hanover it received the possibility its research in a larger nursing center, whose line it had been transferred, of intensifying.

Marriage and public working

After his marriage with Henny Pieper opened Carl Huter in the summer 1896 in Detmold an own institute for cure, which gave some time the material existence it and its family. Since due to its not academic career/development the training activity at universities was refused to it, it turned to the public, whereby it could rank soon also many university graduates among its pupils and many university graduates affecting affected. To it also Theodor Lessing belonged under others, after which the Theodor Lessing university was designated in Hanover some years.

From the late summer 1909 up to the autumn 1910 Carl Huter opened the following private institutes in Leipzig:

  1. free German university for psychological research and comparative nature and religion sciences,
  2. psychological Untersuchungsinstitut and
  3. psychological museum with art-scientific, nature-historical and psychological department.

Already in August 1911 all institutes had to be closed because of missing means again.

As Carl Huter on 4 December 1912 in Dresden in 52. There Lebensjahr did not decease, was members, who could have appropiately administered its deduction or want. The deduction of Carl Huter did not remain therefore together, its work however from August Amandus copper was resumed.

Starting from 1900 it published besides the magazine "“high-waited"”, which had however only an edition of 800 to 1,000 copies.

Together with his friend and pupil Dr. phil. Adolf Brodbeck energized Carl Huter the first world religion parliament, which was accomplished 1893 in Chicago. A second religion parliament wanted to accomplish Huter on the occasion of the inauguration of the people battle monument in Leipzig in the year 1913 as people and religion reconciliation work. By its death in December 1912 this project did not come any longer to the execution.
