Carl Thiersch (* 20 April 1822 in Munich; "† 28 April 1895 in Leipzig; also: Karl Thiersch) was a German surgeon, son of Friedrich Thiersch and son-in-law of Justus Liebig.

Life

Chief work area of the physician was skin cancer. 1854 it was appointed as a professor to the University of attaining, 1867 changed it as a director/conductor of the institute for surgery to the University of Leipzig, which it managed up to its death 1895. it created 1871 together with Carl Reinhold August Wunderlich the urban pc. Jakobs hospitals in Leipzig.

Family

Thiersch was married since 1855 with Johanna, geb. Liebig. Its father was Friedrich Thiersch, its father-in-law was Justus Liebig.
