Carlo Justiniano Ribeiro Chagas (* 9. July 1879 in Irish Republican Army, "† 8. November 1934 in Rio de Janeiro) be a Brazilian physician.

Chagas described 1909 for the first time the Chagas illness designated after it with track construction workers, who suffered allegedly from malaria. It designated the exciter of the Chagas illness after its Mentor Oswaldo Cruz as Trypanosoma cruzi.
