Carlo Urbani (* 19 October 1957 in Castelplanio in the province Ancona, " 29. March 2003) was an Italian physician, who recognized weight of acutes breath way syndrome (SARS) as the first as illness. He was employee of the World Health Organization and was to short before his death in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
Urbani was a president of the Italian physicians without borders and was one of the members, that received 1999 the Nobel peace prize in the name of the organization.
Urbani received its doctor title from the University of Ancona, Italy. It was married and had three children.
Urbani died in Thailand at the age of 46 years, after he had infected himself in Viet Nam with SARS.
