Case (franz., also Futteral) is a container for keeping different customs or objects of value. Depending upon its contents one e.g. calls eyeglass, decoration, nail care or filler case it. Usually a case consists of metal, plastic, leather, imitation leather or material. Inside it fitted with soft material such as velvet, Velours, silk or leather.

The form is usually oblong, narrow, and flat.

To open the case is opened unfold, it gives usually also cases with removable cover or such, which is closed at three sides and from which article can be inferred by the fourth, open side.
