Caspar Peucer (also Kaspar Peucer; * 6 January 1525 in Bautzen; "† 25 September 1602 in Dessau) was as Kirchenreformer, mathematicians, astronomer, the medical profession, diplomat and writers an important representative of the German late human.

He wrote important work over the geodesy ("„De dimensione terrae "“- 1550) and over bases of the astronomy ("„Elementa doctrinae de circulis coelestibus - 1551). it attained a doctorate to 1560 to the doctor of the medicine and became a rector of the University of Wittenberg. After death Melanchthons 1560 he strove around the keeping of its inheritance.
