The cathedral I/O concept is a concept for document management and electronic archiving in the public administration. A substantial goal of the cathedral I/O concept is the introduction of the electronic document. Since to these the the same laws, agendas, guidelines and regulations as to paper documents apply, must be transferred official business processes, treatment of procedures and archiving completely into conformal IT-processes. The cathedral I/O concept does not supply for it guidelines, is however despite its far spreading and the possibility of certifying a standardized standard.

DOMEA is an acronym for"” document management and electronic archiving "“. The concept is present since November 2005 in the version 2.1.
