Germany

The term cement trust stands for forbidden price and area arrangements between cement manufacturers, who were uncovered by the Federal Cartel Office. Thus this trust was terminated. The office locked the procedure against the enterprises involved 2004 and imposed penalties at a value of 661 million euro. That was up to then the highest ever sum imposed by the office. Except the six largest cement manufacturers in Germany also medium-size companies were concerned.

The largest members of the cement trust were: HeidelbergCement (252 million penalty), Dyckerhoff, swivel cement, Lafarge, Alsen AG and ready-mix.
