A central association is a controlling body of occupation or trade associations. Example: Central association of the health insurance companies

Local central associations:

  • German city day
The German city day represents actively the local autonomy. He notices the interests (circle-free) of the cities and city states in relation to Federal Government, Bundestag, Bundesrat, European union and numerous organizations. The German city day advises its member cities and informs it about all locally important procedures and developments. The German city day manufactures exchange of experience between its members and promotes it to numerous committees.
  • German city and Districts organization (DStGB)
The DStGB is local central association of the local regional organizations in Germany, to which circle-belonging of cities and municipalities belong. It represents the interests of the local autonomy of cities and municipalities circle-belonging in Germany and Europe. The member federations in the Lands of the Federal Republic represent from the 15,000 cities and municipalities of Germany approximately 14,000 with approx. 43 million inhabitants. The DStGB is under private law organized. The membership is voluntary.
  • German district day (DLT)
Local central association, to which indirectly all 323 districts belong. It works partially due to express legal regulation in a multiplicity of committees and mechanisms of the federation and the countries terminally or advisory with (among other things in the Bund-Laender-Commission for educational planning and research promotion). The specialized committee social concerns itself also with questions of the local juvenile welfare service.
  • Federal union of the local central associations
In the Federal union of the local central associations the German city day, the German city and Districts organization as well as the German district day united, in order to express itself to spreading local problems together. The leadership of the Federal union is at the German city day.
