The century contract was one 1977 signed agreement between the German energy industry with 44 enterprises and the German hard coal mining industry. There was the German hard coal the priority during the energy production. For the costs there was a compensation, which was raised after the generation of electricity law as consumer delivery, the so-called energy tax on coal. A similar agreement had already preceded with the hut contract.
