The chamber of economics Austria, in former times federal chamber of economics is a body of the public right. It coordinates the activity of the national chambers, the combinations of the commercial economicdriving.

General information

The chamber of economics Austria is part of the Austrian chamber of economics organization. Everyone of the nine Austrian Lands of the Federal Republic has its own chamber of economics (national chamber), with due to the chamber of economics law all commercially active economicdriving (with exception of the agriculture and the free occupations, their own chambers) members have these is (obligation membership). The chamber of economics Austria is thus the tenth chamber of economics, with which all members of the individual national chambers are summarized (member conditions 2004: approx. 330,000) and exercises mainly direction and coordination functions under the chambers of economics. The largest national chamber is the chamber of economics Vienna.

In the center of the tasks codesigning the economic basic conditions is located in the national legal order. This is reached by consulting, protection of interests, service and training achievements for the entrepreneurs.

Interest agency

A condition for an effective codesigning of the economic basic conditions is however that the economy can speak with a voice. The legal membership makes it for the chambers of economics possible to accomplish the reconciliation of interests between the enterprises, necessary for it, "“in the own house"”. In view of the very heterogeneous structure of the members the reconciliation of interests is more difficult in the chambers of economics than at other social groups, because there is a multiplicity beside a row parallel also more diverging, even opposite interests. The chambers of economics consider to this circumstance in organizational regard: The technical organizations provide for an agency of industry-referred single interests. Among the interest agency also measures within the ranges public work and restaurant lobbyism as well as the comprehensive information of the members rank.

Right service

By employees specialists can help the chambers of economics rapidly and free of charge. Free advisory activities are offered to the members within the following right ranges, whereby quite regional differences exist. Not each national chamber offers each consulting service:

  • Work and social right (among other things free agency of the members before the work and social court)
  • Professional training right
  • Tax law
  • Trade and equipment right
  • Rental law
  • Environment law
  • Society and competition right
  • Commercial law
  • External trade right
  • Traffic law

Structure

Each chamber of economics is represented by selected functionaries, who are selected every 5 years in the chamber of economics choice by all members. With the last elections in March 2005 the restaurant federation, an apron organization of the came out again as a winner (70.4% of the voices). The president of the chamber of economics Austria is Christoph Leitl.

The other parliamentary groups represented in all national chambers are that the intimate social-democratic trade association (SWV), the ring of liberal economicdriving (RFW), the Green economics (the GREEN) as well as the industrial list of the Austrian combinationcombination combination.

A staff of coworkers, the chamber employees, for support with the organizational expenditures and for the execution of the service achievements is to the functionaries at the disposal. At the point of the employees a Secretary-General and/or a director stands.

Financing

The chamber of economics finances itself by the basic reallocation as well as the chamber reallocations 1 and 2.

  • Basic reallocation: The delivery for the financing of the professional associations, which can be paid from all members of the chambers of economics. The height is autonomously decided by the respective specialized group.
  • Chamber reallocation 1 (KU 1): 3 parts per thousand of the controllable conversions obtained inland, if these exceed the amount of 150.000 euro in the calendar year. It benefits the respective national chamber to 60%, to 40% of the chamber of economics Austria.
  • Chamber reallocation 2 (KU 2): 0.39% - 0.44% - addition to the service giver contribution
