Christiane Woopen (* 1962) is a German Expertin for medicine-ethical questions and since 2001 member in the national ethics advice.

Christiane Woopen studied medicine at the University of Cologne from 1982 to 1988. From 1983 to 1988 it received thereby a scholarship of the study promotion Cusanuswerk registered association from 1990 to 1995 attached it a study of philosophy in Bonn and in Hagen. It attained a doctorate 1993 at the Rheini Friedrich William university to Bonn. From 1989 to 1991 Christiane Woopen worked as lady doctor in the practical course and in the department of the Evangelist hospital Weyertal in Cologne. Since 1994 she is scientific woman employee at Institut for science and ethics registered association, Bonn, in the department for biomedical ethics of Professor Dr. L. Honnefelder. Since 1998 it in addition scientific woman employee at Institut for history and ethics of the medicine of the university are to Cologne with Professor Dr. Dr. K. Bergdolt and have there a training order for medicine ethics. From 1998 to 2002 Christiane Woopen led a DFG promoted study about "“selection due to genetic Medical, ethical and legal aspects of the and "” through.

Christiane Woopen was 1997/1998 member of the working group of the scientific adviser of the Federal Medical Society "“explanation to the abortion after "” and from 1998 to 2001 member of the working group "“"”. 1998/1999 were it member of the expert commission "“Skabies"” at the Diakoniewerk Michaelshoven in Cologne and 1998/1999 member of the working group "“abortions with expecting illness or handicap of the child in the context of the medical indication"” of the central committee of the German catholics.
