Professor Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Johann Christoph student (* 1942) is a German physician, Palliativmediziner and a Psychotherapeut. It belongs to the pioneers of the German Hospizbewegung and Palliativmedizin and developed theoretical and practical bases for the Hospizarbeit in Germany.

Student taught from 1980 to 1997 in Hanover and Freiburg social medicine, psychiatry and Thanatologie. It is since 1997 total leaders of the renowned Hospiz Stuttgard. It is considered as one of the most formed German pupils of the Sterbeforscherin Elizabeth Ross.

2006 lent the University of Heidelberg to it for its coining/shaping effect during the establishment of the Hospizbewegung and the reorientation of the Palliativmedizin in Germany since beginning of the 80's.
