That COMM other air Group (CAG) is the responsible person officer and commander of the air operations on board aircraft carriers and their carrier combat team of US Navy. The designation developed 1938 as the first carrier air Group was formed. This air Groups into the 1970ern in carrier air Wings were renamed, whereby the commander maintained the title CAG.

The post of the CAG usually presupposes the rank of a Captain (OF-5). The staff of the CAG is usually supplemented with personnel of the individual relays, like e.g. the intelligence service officer. Usually the CAG is subordinate to a Rear admiral in the function of the commander of group of carriers (COMM other, carrier Battle Group or COMM other, Cruiser Destroyer Group).

On aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy the equivalent is that COMM other (air).
