Under a concession (of lat.: concedere: grant, permit; Concessum) one can understand PPP in the sense of the administrative law the following:

• the award of a right to use at a public thing by the responsible national or local authority,
• the official grant for the enterprise of a grant-requiring trade,
• the transmission of a national or local task at persons of the private right or
• the grant for the practice of an activity, which is reserved actually a person of the public right.
