A context diagram serves the modelling of a system environment in an early draft or analysis phase. It consists of exactly one process, which will provide as circle represented and with the number 0. The components, which will interact with the system as rectangles represented, data or control rivers to become by arrows of or to the process represented. The context diagram originates originally from the economical informatics and for example with Enterprise Application integration is used, in order to visualize the requirements to a system.
