A coworker is primarily humans, who work with other, thus further workers and/or employees, together.

Today the term coworker is seen in generally the persons employed of an enterprise. A coworker does not have to be seen inevitably as humans, who work with all other workers directly together, e.g. humans, who manufacture a part for a final product, does not have necessarily with humans to co-operate, who build the product up.

One uses the term coworker also for the Untergebenen in bureaucratic hierarchies. In modern organizations however also a hierarchy-free use of the term is usual.

It will hold also the opinion, is coworkers an ideological term, which masks the actual making and rule conditions in the enterprises. It pretend equivalence and harmony, fade out objective, not contradictions of the interests which can be solved and is in the long run a term of the deception in the interest of those, which would hold the material control over the enterprises.
