Crease pattern one calls the order of the groovings (breaks) of a crease elbow in the pressure subsequent treatment.

One can process a crease elbow in a modern folding machine dependent on their processing possibilities in many kinds and in several directions. The sequence of the individual processing steps and their directions result in different final products, e.g. Supplement, form tractor, situation. For each individual break and the processing direction special symbols and indications are defined and devoted successively noted a certain picture, the crease pattern. In order to e.g. manufacture from the pressure elbow and the crease elbow arranged on it a situation for the book binding, the individual sides of the final product must be arranged in a certain way on the pressure elbow. The exact arrangement of these sides depends on the crease pattern and with the Ausschiessen in the pressure preliminary stage is considered.
