Chevrolet (Chevy) is an automark, which belongs since 1918 to the general engine company.

The firm founder Louis Chevrolet was a running driver, who was born on 25 December 1878 in La Chaux de fund, Switzerland. On 10 November 1911 the company was created, in order to begin particularly against Ford model T. In the year 1912 the Classic Six was introduced, a car for 5 persons, which created 105 km/h point. The most well-known model is the Corvette, which was introduced 1953.

On the European market since 2005 Chevrolets are offered, which were sold before times under the label name Daewoo. Refrained from the Chevrolet Logo to be based the vehicles however also further on Daewoo technology. Thus it concerns with these vehicles still around asiatic automobiles and not American. General of engine expects by the label change an increase in sales.

In the context of this measure with the model Corvette the mark additive "“Chevrolet"” was removed. Corvette forms now its own sports car mark.
